Directions for Use

Pre-Surgical Setup

• Open the sterilized SD-MTACT kit and verify all components are present
• Choose the appropriate bone tac length based on the cortical bone available at the fixation sites
• Prepare the graft material and membrane or mesh ahead of fixation

Site Preparation

• Complete flap elevation and expose the defect requiring augmentation
• Place the bone graft and trim the barrier membrane or mesh to cover the defect with appropriate margin
• Identify the bone tack fixation positions around the membrane periphery

Bone Tac Insertion

• Select the correct tac from the corresponding red (3.5 mm) or blue (5.0 mm) organiser
• Engage the tac into the tac applicator and verify it is seated securely before lifting
• Position the applicator perpendicular to the bone at the planned fixation point through the membrane
• Apply firm steady axial pressure to drive the tac into the cortex — the press-in design works without a mallet in most native bone
• Insert until the tac head sits flush against the membrane with even pressure distribution
• Repeat at each fixation point around the membrane periphery until fully stabilized

Verification and Flap Closure

• Confirm the membrane is firmly fixed with no movement at the tack points
• Verify the bone graft remains contained beneath the membrane without exposure
• Close the soft tissue flap with tension-free primary closure over the fixed membrane
• Suture per the planned protocol and provide post-operative instructions

Tac Removal at Re-Entry

• At the re-entry appointment, expose the augmented site with a flap reflection
• Select the appropriate motor mount driver length (20 mm or 26 mm) based on access
• Connect the driver to a surgical contra-angle handpiece for controlled removal
• Engage the driver onto the tack head and unscrew or extract under controlled rotation
• Proceed with implant placement or further prosthetic planning as per the case

Post Use Care

• Return all instruments to their designated positions in the tray after the procedure
• Clean each instrument thoroughly and inspect for damage before sterilization
• Sterilize the complete kit via autoclave following the recommended protocol
