Description

Surgident Bone Multi System – Combined Expander & Spreading Kit (SD-BMS) is a combined expander and spreading kit that prepares narrow alveolar ridges for implant placement in a single procedure. Built for deficient ridges, it lets clinicians sequentially expand bone after guide drilling, widening the site step by step to gain strong initial implant fixation. The kit includes a contouring bur to flatten bone slope, two saw disks, five colour-coded expander drills with graduated diameters and 4–10mm depth markings, a guide drill, a handpiece condenser, and a ratchet wrench. An additional chisel and bone collector support graft harvesting during surgery. The expander drills run at a recommended 40–50 RPM for controlled, atraumatic widening, and can be used for single or multiple implant sites within one session. By merging expansion and spreading functions into one tray, the BMS streamlines horizontal ridge augmentation and reduces the need for separate instrument sets.

Directions for Use

Preparation

• Sterilize all components and arrange them in the autoclavable tray.
• Assess ridge width on CBCT and plan the expander drill sequence; expand to one size below the implant diameter (e.g. 4.0 for a 4.5 implant).

Operation

• Raise a flap to expose the narrow bone ridge.
• Use the guide drill to mark the osteotomy position.
• Apply the contouring bur to flatten the bone slope where required.
• Perform sequential expansion with the expander drills, moving up in diameter step by step at 40–50 RPM.
• Continue to one size below the planned implant diameter to gain initial fixation power.
• Place the implant into the expanded site to achieve primary stability; repeat across each position for multiple sites.

Post Use Care

• Collect autogenous bone with the bone collector for grafting if needed.
• Suture the flap to close the site.
• Clean, lubricate, and re-sterilize all instruments after use.
