Directions for Use

Pre-Surgical Setup

• Open the sterilized SD-SCRT kit and verify all instruments are present
• Pre-order the fixation screws, titanium mesh (if needed), and bone tacs separately based on planned case requirements
• Place the screws into their designated diameter and length positions using the color-coded zones in the tray before sterilization
• Plan the fixation positions based on the case (membrane, mesh, or block bone graft)

Site Preparation

• Complete flap elevation and expose the defect requiring augmentation
• Place the bone graft material and trim the barrier membrane or titanium mesh to cover the defect
• For block bone grafts, position and trim the block to the defect site before fixation
• Identify the fixation positions — combining screws and tacs where indicated by the case plan

Pilot Drilling

• For screws requiring pilot drilling, use the appropriate pilot drill matched to the screw diameter
• Create pilot holes at the planned fixation positions with copious saline irrigation
• Verify pilot hole depth and angulation match the intended screw length and trajectory

Screw Insertion

• Attach the appropriate driver to the precision driver handle based on access requirements
• Pick up the chosen fixation screw from the color-coded tray position
• Engage the driver onto the screw head ensuring secure grip before lifting
• Position the screw perpendicular to the bone at the planned fixation point through the membrane or mesh
• Insert under controlled rotation until the screw head sits flush against the membrane with even pressure
• Repeat at each fixation point until the membrane, mesh, or block is fully stabilized

Combined Screw and Tac Fixation (When Planned)

• If using bone tacs alongside screws, load the appropriate tacs into the matching organiser positions
• Place screws at primary fixation points where stronger anchorage is needed
• Place tacs at secondary fixation points where membrane stabilization is sufficient
• This combined approach reduces total fixation hardware while maintaining excellent membrane stability

Verification and Flap Closure

• Confirm the membrane, mesh, or block is firmly fixed with no movement at the fixation points
• Verify the bone graft remains contained beneath the membrane without exposure
• Close the soft tissue flap with tension-free primary closure over the fixed augmentation
• Suture per the planned protocol and provide post-operative instructions

Screw Removal at Re-Entry

• At the re-entry appointment, expose the augmented site with a flap reflection
• Select the appropriate driver length based on surgical access
• Engage the driver onto each screw head and unscrew under controlled reverse rotation
• Remove any bone tacs using the matching tac remover driver as required
• Proceed with implant placement or further prosthetic planning as per the case

Post Use Care

• Return all instruments to their designated positions in the tray after the procedure
• Clean each instrument thoroughly and inspect for damage before sterilization
• Sterilize the complete kit via autoclave following the recommended protocol
• Store the closed sterilized kit in a clean dry environment ready for the next case
