The Surgident Ridge Contouring Bur Kit (RCBS) is designed to contour and reduce alveolar ridges during implant placement. Its anatomically contoured cutting profile follows the natural form of the ridge, creating a stable, well-shaped foundation for accurate implant positioning. The optimised cutting surface makes ridge reduction smooth, controlled and safe for the patient, minimising trauma to surrounding bone. The kit provides three different cutting surface lengths, so you always have the right bur for narrow, moderate or broad ridges. Each bur is compatible with any implant handpiece and operates efficiently at a recommended speed of 800–1200 rpm in the clockwise direction. Supplied in a five-bur cassette for organised storage and straightforward sterilisation, this kit is a practical, reliable addition to any implant surgical setup, helping clinicians achieve predictable ridge preparation and improved implant outcomes across a range of clinical situations.

Directions for Use

Preparation

• Assess the alveolar ridge dimensions at the planned implant site
• Select the appropriate bur length (RCB-7, RCB-10 or RCB-14)
• Ensure the bur is clean and sterilised
• Securely mount the bur into a compatible implant handpiece

Operation

• Set the handpiece to 800–1200 rpm in the clockwise direction
• Apply the bur to the ridge with light, controlled pressure
• Follow the natural ridge contour to reduce and shape the bone
• Use copious irrigation throughout to prevent overheating

Post Use Care

• Remove the bur from the handpiece
• Clean off all debris from the bur
• Sterilise the bur after each use
• Return the bur to the cassette for safe, organised storage
