Directions for Use

Setup

• Connect the airotor to a Midwest 4-hole coupling on the dental unit
• Verify the air and water supply pressures meet NSK’s recommended operating range
• Run the airotor briefly without a bur to confirm smooth rotation and water spray

Bur Insertion

• Press the push button on the head of the handpiece to release the chuck
• Insert the appropriate FG (Friction Grip) bur fully into the chuck
• Release the button to lock the bur securely in place
• Gently pull the bur to confirm it is firmly engaged before use

Clinical Operation

• Activate the foot pedal to begin rotation and verify the water spray is reaching the cutting site
• Apply the bur to the tooth surface using light intermittent pressure for efficient cutting
• Allow the ceramic bearings and high rotation speed to do the cutting work without forcing the bur
• Pause periodically to assess cutting progress and prevent bur or tooth overheating

Post Use Care

• Run the airotor briefly with water spray to flush debris before disconnecting
• Wipe the external surfaces with the recommended surface disinfectant
• Lubricate the handpiece using NSK-recommended cleaning and lubrication products before sterilization
• Autoclave the airotor as per NSK’s sterilization protocol
