Waldent 1:5 Increasing Contra Angle Handpiece (W-144) is an electric handpiece and is much stronger than air-driven handpiece since a motor is spinning the bur as opposed to air. This allows the dentist to efficiently remove caries at a faster pace. This handpiece greatly reduces chair time. These electric handpieces are routinely used in surgical procedures including implant procedures.

Directions for Use

Preparation:

• Ensure that the handpiece is properly sterilized using an autoclave before each use.

Connection:

• Connect the handpiece to the dental unit using the appropriate coupling.
• Ensure a secure and tight connection to prevent any air or water leakage.

Power Supply:

• Connect the handpiece to the electric power source as per the dental unit specifications.
• Verify that the power supply is within the recommended range for the handpiece.

Inserting the Bur:

• Press the bur release button to open the chuck.
• Insert the bur into the chuck and release the button to secure the bur in place.
• Confirm that the bur is properly seated to prevent wobbling during operation.

Water Supply:

• Connect the handpiece’s water supply to the dental unit’s water source.
• Ensure proper water flow for cooling during procedures.

Operation:

• Activate the handpiece according to the dental unit’s control settings.
• Observe the recommended speed and torque settings for the specific procedure.
• Use the push-button control to start and stop the handpiece as needed.

Post-Operation:

• After use, clean the handpiece thoroughly to remove any debris or residue.
