Enhanced Prophy-Mate neo unites form and functionality for easier use. Excellent weight balance and a lightweight, compact powder chamber make Prophy-Mate neo comfortable to hold, while the original NSK handpiece connection swivels 360° even under strong air pressure. Effortless operation shortens the time for the treatment of plaque and stains. 60° and 80°nozzles are available.

• Round Piece: Twin joints rotate smoothly 360° degrees for easy operability, responding flexibly to minute fingertip movements with effortless adjustment of the nozzle angle.
• Two Angles: Selectable 60° and 80° nozzles maximize the cleaning ability. 60° nozzle works especially well for the molar area and occluding surface and 80° nozzle for anterior tooth.
• Maintenance: The handpiece can be washed in the thermo disinfector.Autoclavable up to 135°C.

Directions for Use

Preparing the Device:

• Connect the Prophy-Mate Neo to the dental unit’s handpiece tubing using the NSK coupling.
• Ensure that the air and water supply to the dental unit is connected and functioning correctly.
• Check that the powder reservoir is filled with the recommended abrasive powder.

Patient Preparation:

• Inform the patient about the air polishing procedure and its benefits.
• Provide protective eyewear and cover the patient’s clothing to avoid powder splatter.

Positioning:

• Position the patient comfortably in the dental chair with appropriate headrest support.
• Adjust the dental chair to provide easy access to the treatment area.

Adjusting the Air and Water Flow:

• Adjust the air pressure and water pressure on the dental unit to the recommended settings.
• Use the air pressure control on the Prophy-Mate Neo to fine-tune the airflow during the procedure.
• Ensure an adequate water flow to provide a continuous spray for cooling and lubricating the tooth surface.

Air Polishing Procedure:

• Hold the Prophy-Mate Neo in a pen-like grip, allowing easy control during the procedure.
• Position the nozzle of the handpiece at a 60-degree angle to the tooth surface, maintaining a safe distance from the gums.
• Use gentle, overlapping strokes to clean the tooth surface, removing plaque, stains, and biofilm.
• Move the handpiece methodically, cleaning one tooth at a time.
• Adjust the powder flow control to achieve the desired amount of abrasive powder for efficient cleaning.

Rinse and Dry:

• After completing the air polishing procedure, rinse the patient’s mouth thoroughly with water to remove any residual powder.
• Use suction to remove excess water and powder from the treatment area.
• Dry the teeth and surrounding area with air and check the results.

Post-Procedure Instructions:

• Provide post-procedure instructions to the patient, including guidelines on oral hygiene and dietary habits.
• Schedule any necessary follow-up appointments as needed.
