Directions for Use

• Inspect the instrument before use to ensure the jaws, scissor blades, and ratchet mechanism are clean, sharp, and functioning smoothly
• Sterilize the instrument by autoclaving at 121°C for 20 minutes or 134°C for 15 minutes prior to use
• Load the suture needle into the serrated tip jaws, positioning it approximately one-third from the swaged end at a 90° angle
• Engage the ratchet by gently closing the handles until a secure lock is felt
• Drive the needle through the tissue using a smooth wrist rotation, following the natural curve of the needle
• Release the ratchet, regrip the needle on the opposite side, and pull through to complete the suture pass
• Tie the knot using standard instrument-tie technique, keeping the scissor blades clear of the suture thread during tying
• Once the knot is secured, rotate the instrument slightly and use the proximal scissor blades to trim the suture ends to the desired length
• After the procedure, rinse the instrument immediately to prevent debris and blood from drying
• Clean thoroughly with an enzymatic solution, dry completely, lubricate the joint, and autoclave before next use
• Store in a clean, dry instrument tray away from moisture and corrosive agents
