Key Highlights

Versatile dental GIC for crowns, bridges, inlays, and orthodontic brackets with strong adhesion and fluoride release

Description

Glass Ionomer Cement (GIC) Type I Lute is a versatile dental material designed for the fixation of crowns, bridges, inlays, and orthodontic brackets. Its composition includes a radiopaque fine glass powder and an organic polymer liquid, which together offer excellent tooth adhesion and high fluoride release.

This fluoride release helps to strengthen enamel and prevent decay. GIC is also effective as a cavity liner under all restorative materials, providing a protective barrier and enhancing the longevity of dental restorations. The cement features a very low film thickness, which allows for precise and secure application.

It boasts high compressive strength, ensuring durable and reliable restorations. GIC Type I Lute+ is ideal for a variety of dental applications, offering strong bonding capabilities, preventive benefits through fluoride release, and excellent performance in both restorative and orthodontic treatments.

Directions for Use

  • Preparation: Clean the tooth surface thoroughly and ensure it is free of any debris or contaminants. Mix the powder and liquid according to the manufacturer’s instructions to achieve a homogenous consistency.

  • Mixing: Use the provided spoon to measure the powder. Dispense the required amount of liquid onto the mixing pad. Gradually add the powder to the liquid while mixing with a spatula until a smooth, creamy consistency is achieved.

  • Application: Apply a thin layer of the mixed cement to the internal surface of the restoration (crown, inlay, bridge, or orthodontic band). Position the restoration onto the prepared tooth and press firmly to ensure proper seating.

  • Setting: Allow the cement to set without any disturbance. Initial setting occurs within a few minutes.

    • Remove any excess cement from the margins before it fully hardens to avoid any issues with occlusion or fit.
  • Finishing: After the cement has fully set, check the restoration for any excess material and remove it carefully.

    • Ensure that the restoration is securely bonded and that the patient’s bite is comfortable.
  • Storage: Store the remaining powder and liquid in a cool, dry place.

    • Ensure containers are tightly closed to maintain the quality of the product.
