Directions for Use

Preparation

• Measure Accurately: Use the specified water/plaster ratio of 28 ml of water for every 100g of stone powder. Precision in measurement ensures optimal consistency and strength of the mix.

• Clean Tools and Surfaces: Before starting, make sure your mixing bowl, spatula, and any other tools are clean and dry to prevent contamination.

Mixing

• Add Water First: Always pour the required amount of water into the mixing bowl before adding the stone powder to ensure a smooth mixture without lumps.

• Add the Stone Powder Gradually: Slowly sift the Kalabhai Ultra (Blue) Stone powder into the water to prevent clumping.

• Mixing Time: Mix the stone and water for the recommended 15 seconds. Use a mechanical mixer or spatula to achieve a uniform, bubble-free mixture. Mixing too long can incorporate air bubbles and affect the model’s surface quality.

Pouring

• Vibrating: If available, use a vibrating table when pouring the stone into the impression to help eliminate air bubbles and ensure the stone flows into all areas of the impression.

• Pouring Technique: Pour the mix in a single, continuous flow, starting from one point and allowing it to naturally spread to fill the impression. This method helps avoid trapping air and ensures a more accurate model.

Setting and Curing

• Setting Time: Allow the stone to set for the recommended 8 minutes undisturbed. Temperature and humidity can affect setting times, so adjust your waiting time accordingly.

• Curing: After the initial set, let the model sit for at least 1 hour before demolding to ensure it has gained enough strength. For full strength, a 24-hour cure time is recommended.

Finishing

• Demolding: Carefully remove the model from the impression. Use a gentle touch to avoid breaking or chipping.

• Trimming and Cleaning: Once demolded, you can trim and clean the model as needed. The stone’s high strength and chip resistance will be beneficial during this phase.

Tips for Optimal Use

• Temperature of Water: Use water at room temperature. Too warm or too cold can affect the setting time and final properties of the stone.
• Cleanliness: Keep your workspace and tools clean to prevent contamination and ensure the highest quality models.
• Storage: Store the stone in a cool, dry place to maintain its quality. Moisture can cause the stone powder to clump, affecting its flow and setting properties.
