Directions for Use

• Prepare the tooth: Begin by isolating and preparing the tooth for endodontic treatment. This involves gaining access to the pulp chamber through cavity preparation.
• Insert the file: Select an appropriate endodontic file and insert it into the root canal. Ensure that the file is properly positioned and reaches the working length.
• Activate the device: Turn on the Root ZX II Apex Locator by pressing the power button. The color LCD display should light up, indicating that the device is ready for use.
• Attach the file clip: Attach the file clip to the endodontic file near the handle. The file clip helps hold the file in place during measurement and prevents slippage.
• Place the file into the canal: Gently guide the file into the canal while keeping it in contact with the tooth structure. Advance the file until the file clip reaches the reference point on the tooth, typically the coronal reference point.
• Monitor the display: As the file reaches the apical region, observe the color LCD display. It will show the measurement readings, such as the distance from the file tip to the apex and the file length inside the canal.
• Follow audible and visual indicators: Pay attention to the audible signals and visual indicators provided by the Root ZX II. These indicators will help guide you as you approach the apex. The device will typically emit a continuous beep when the file reaches the apical constriction.
