Directions for Use

• Preparation: Ensure that you have all necessary equipment ready, including the periotome, anesthetic solutions, and any other tools required for the extraction.
• Anesthesia: Administer local anesthesia to numb the area around the tooth to be extracted. Ensure the patient is comfortable and pain-free.
• Isolation: Use a dental dam or cotton rolls to isolate the tooth and keep the area dry during the procedure.
• Assessment: Assess the tooth’s mobility and the condition of the surrounding tissues. This will help determine the appropriate angle and location for using the periotome.
• Insertion: Gently insert the periotome’s thin, sharp blade into the periodontal ligament space around the tooth, starting from the distal or mesial aspect. Ensure that the blade is positioned as close to the root surface as possible.
• Severing the Ligament: Rock the periotome gently back and forth, gradually working around the entire circumference of the tooth. This process severs the periodontal ligament, which holds the tooth in place.
• Extraction: Once the periodontal ligament is adequately severed, use dental forceps to carefully extract the tooth. The tooth should come out with minimal force.
• Post-Extraction Care: After the extraction, thoroughly clean the extraction socket, remove any remaining ligament remnants, and ensure hemostasis (control of bleeding).
• Patient Instructions: Provide the patient with post-extraction care instructions, including information about pain management and follow-up appointments.
