- Position the Patient: Position the patient in the dental chair to provide clear access to the tooth requiring extraction or periodontal treatment.
- Visual Examination: Carefully examine the tooth and the surrounding tissues to assess the condition of the periodontal ligament and determine the need for extraction or treatment.
- Grip the Instrument: Hold the Periotome #4 (P4) in a comfortable and controlled grip. Ensure that your fingers are steady, and you have a clear view of the tooth and its surrounding area.
- Insert the Periotome: Gently insert the fine-tipped Periotome between the tooth and the alveolar bone, positioning it at the junction of the tooth’s root and the periodontal ligament.

- Complete Extraction or Treatment: Once the tooth is sufficiently mobile for extraction, use dental forceps to gently and firmly grasp the tooth. Continue to apply minimal force while simultaneously rotating and lifting the tooth from its socket, ensuring atraumatic extraction.If using the Periotome for periodontal treatment, follow the treatment plan accordingly.
