Directions for Use

Case Planning

• Confirm the case involves a Straumann BLT implant with the NC (Narrow CrossFit) platform
• Verify that the non-hex configuration is appropriate for the case type
• For single-unit crowns requiring precise anti-rotation, consider the hex Ti-base variant instead

Restoration Design

• Design the superstructure with the Ti-base positioned per the case plan
• Design the restoration to fully house the Ti-base with adequate bonding space
• Ensure the screw access channel is correctly oriented and clear

Superstructure Fabrication

• Fabricate the superstructure in the chosen material (zirconia or lithium disilicate)
• Sinter, glaze, and finish the restoration per the material’s protocol
• Verify passive fit of the Ti-base into the superstructure

Ti-Base Bonding

• Sandblast the Ti-base retentive grooved surface with aluminium oxide to enhance mechanical retention
• Clean the Ti-base and superstructure internal surface with alcohol
• Apply the recommended primer to the Ti-base bonding surface
• Apply adhesive resin cement  to the superstructure internal surface
• Seat the Ti-base into the superstructure and remove excess cement immediately
• Cure per the cement manufacturer’s protocol
• Finish and polish the cement margin to a smooth transition

Clinical Placement

• Verify the implant site is healthy, mature, and ready for the definitive prosthesis
• Remove the healing abutment and clean the implant connection thoroughly
• Try in the bonded restoration to verify passive seating and interproximal contacts
• Verify occlusion and adjust as needed

Screw Retention

• Place the bonded restoration onto the implant and hand-tighten the abutment screw
• Torque the abutment screw to the Straumann-recommended value using a calibrated torque wrench
• Seal the screw access channel with Teflon tape and composite resin

Post-Placement Care

• Take a post-placement radiograph to confirm complete seating and screw torque
• Provide patient care instructions for oral hygiene around the restoration
• Schedule regular recall visits for maintenance and evaluation
