Directions for Use

• Prepare the Handpiece: Ensure that the handpiece is clean and in good working condition before starting.
• Attach the Scaling Tip: Select the appropriate scaling tip for the procedure. Align the tip with the handpiece’s threaded connection. Gently screw the tip clockwise until it is securely attached. Avoid overtightening to prevent damage.
• Connect to the Power Source: Plug the handpiece into the compatible Woodpecker scaler unit, ensuring a secure connection.
• Adjust Settings: Set the power and water flow levels according to the patient’s needs and the procedure type. For the HD-6L and HD-7L Optic model, ensure the LED light is functioning properly.
• Activate the Handpiece: Press the foot pedal to activate the handpiece. Begin scaling by using smooth, gentle motions to remove plaque, tartar, or calculus from the teeth.
• Maintain Proper Technique: Hold the handpiece with a firm, yet relaxed grip. Keep the scaling tip angled correctly against the tooth surface to avoid damaging the enamel or surrounding tissues.
• Rinse and Suction: Continuously use water spray to cool the tip and rinse debris. Utilize suction to keep the working area clear.
• Detach and Clean: After the procedure, carefully unscrew and remove the scaling tip.Clean the handpiece and tip thoroughly to remove any debris or residue.
• Sterilize: Sterilize the handpiece and tips according to the guidelines to maintain hygiene and prevent cross-contamination.
