Description

The Waldent Forceps Silicon bumper guards are (one-patient use) made with non-latex materials. We do not recommend putting them in an autoclave or trying to clean them for use on multiple patients. The standard series dental extraction forceps that use the green bumpers are universal for all of the instruments.

Directions for Use

• Preparation:

  • Ensure the Waldent Forceps with Silicon Bumper Guards are ready for use straight out of the packaging. These bumper guards are intended for single-patient use and are made from non-latex materials.

• Patient Setup:

  • Position the patient comfortably in the dental chair, ensuring proper lighting and access to the extraction site. Administer local anesthesia as necessary to ensure patient comfort.

• Selecting the Forceps:

  • Choose the appropriate Waldent Forceps from the standard series that is equipped with the green silicon bumper guards. These bumper guards are universal and designed to fit all instruments within the series.

• Gripping and Extraction:

  • Use the forceps to firmly grip the tooth to be extracted. Ensure the silicon bumper guards provide a secure and cushioned grip on the tooth surface to minimize damage and enhance control during extraction.

• Extraction Technique:

  • Apply controlled force using the forceps handles to rock the tooth gently back and forth (luxate) within its socket. This movement helps to loosen the tooth from the surrounding tissues and bone.

• Complete Extraction:

  • Once the tooth is sufficiently loosened, carefully lift it from the socket using the forceps. Ensure smooth and continuous movement to avoid fracturing the tooth or leaving fragments behind.

• Post-Extraction Care:

  • Inspect the extraction site to ensure all tooth fragments and debris are removed. Provide post-operative instructions to the patient for proper care of the extraction site to promote healing and prevent complications.

• Disposal:

  • After use, discard the Waldent Forceps with Silicon Bumper Guards appropriately. Since they are intended for single-patient use and should not be cleaned or sterilized for reuse, dispose of them according to medical waste disposal guidelines.
