Directions for Use

• Sterilization: Before use, sterilize the Waldent CPITN B Probe in an autoclave at 135°C to ensure it is free of contaminants and safe for patient use.
• Grip: Hold the probe with a light, comfortable grip to prevent fatigue and maintain control.
• Positioning: Insert the slender probe tip gently into the gingival sulcus or periodontal pocket, keeping it parallel to the tooth’s long axis.
• Probing: Move the probe with a gentle “walking” stroke, taking measurements at six points around each tooth—distofacial, facial, mesiofacial, distolingual, lingual, and mesiolingual.
• Measurement: Read the pocket depth using the clearly engraved graduation markings (3.5, 5.5, 8.5, and 11.5 mm) and note the deepest measurement.
• Post-use Sterilization: After the examination, clean and sterilize the probe again for future use.
