Description

NovaBone Perioglas is a synthetic calcium phosphosilicate bioactive glass particulate, supplied in this kit as six single-use 0.5cc unit-dose syringes. Within the wider class of dental bone grafts, bioactive glass stands apart by bonding chemically to bone and releasing calcium, phosphate and silica ions that actively stimulate osteoblast activity and accelerate intrabony defect fill. The unit-dose presentation eliminates cross-contamination between cases and makes Perioglas particularly suited to chairside periodontal surgery.

Directions for Use

• Site Preparation: Ensure the defect site is clean, debrided of granulation tissue, and bleeding is controlled according to standard protocols.
• Material Handling: Open the sterile package carefully and dispense the particulate graft material into a sterile dish.
• Hydration (optional): Moisten the particulate with sterile saline or blood to facilitate handling and placement.
  
• Graft Placement: Pack the graft material gently into the defect using standard instruments, ensuring full contact with surrounding bone.
• Defect Coverage: If required, cover the grafted site with a suitable membrane or suture flap over the graft, as per standard protocols.
• Post-operative Care: Close the surgical site appropriately and advise the patient to follow standard post-operative instructions.
