Directions for Use

Shade Selection and Tooth Cleaning

  • Clean the tooth with pumice and water to remove stains
  • Select the appropriate shade using a shade guide

Isolation and Moisture Control

  • Use a rubber dam or cotton rolls to keep the area clean and dry, preventing contamination

Cavity Preparation

  • Remove all carious tissue and shape the cavity as needed
  • If the cavity is close to the pulp, protect with a hard-setting calcium hydroxide liner (avoid eugenol-based materials)

Etching (if using total-etch or selective-etch technique)

  • Apply phosphoric acid etchant to enamel and/or dentin as per adhesive protocol
  • Rinse thoroughly and gently air-dry, leaving dentin slightly moist (do not overdry)

Bonding

  • Apply the bonding agent according to its instructions (e.g., CLEARFIL SE BOND or CLEARFIL TRI-S BOND)
  • Ensure even coverage, gently air-blow to thin the adhesive, and light-cure as directed by the bonding system

Composite Placement

  • Attach the needle tip to the syringe
  • Dispense CLEARFIL AP-X Esthetic Flow directly into the cavity
  • Sculpt and adapt the material as needed

Light Curing

  • Light-cure the composite for the recommended time (typically 10–20 seconds per increment)
  • For deeper cavities, use incremental layering and cure each layer separately

Finishing and Polishing

  • Shape the restoration as needed and polish to achieve a high-gloss, natural finish
