Directions for Use

• Choose the tooth to prepare on the typodont.
• Ensure the typodont is securely mounted, placed on a stable surface or hold it anatomically.
• Select the appropriate dental handpiece and bur for the desired tooth preparation.
• Begin by marking the desired preparation area on the tooth using a pencil or marker for reference.
• Apply water or a lubricant to the tooth surface to minimize friction and heat during preparation.
• Follow the principles of tooth preparation, including:
  • Creating appropriate cavity outlines, including depth, width, and taper.
  • Removing caries or existing restorations as needed.
  • Establishing proper axial and incisal/occlusal reduction.
  • Creating appropriate retention and resistance forms.
• Utilize the dental handpiece and bur to carefully remove tooth structure based on the marked guidelines.
• Maintain proper water irrigation to keep the tooth and bur cool and prevent damage.
• Periodically check the tooth preparation with dental instruments, such as explorers or periodontal probes, to ensure desired dimensions and smoothness.
• Complete the tooth preparation by smoothing any rough surfaces and ensuring adequate reduction.
• Clean the typodont and remove any debris from the prepared tooth using a dental brush and water.
• For removal of individual teeth, locate the screw securing the tooth in its socket. 
• Using a suitable screwdriver or tool, carefully loosen and remove the screw from the attachment point. Gently apply pressure to the tooth while simultaneously lifting it upward to detach it from the socket.
