• Select the Appropriate Cord Size: Choose the appropriate size of the retraction cord based on the clinical need and the space available in the gingival sulcus.
• Isolate the Tooth: Use a dental dam or cotton rolls to isolate the tooth being worked on, keeping the area dry.
• Lubricate the Cord: It’s a good practice to lubricate the retraction cord with a water-based gel or astringent to aid in smooth insertion.
