Directions for Use

Pre‑Processing / Preparation

• Inspect the blank under magnification for any surface damage or debris before use.
• Confirm compatibility between the blank and the specific implant system/connection to be used (manufacturer’s system fit).
• Clean the blank thoroughly using an implant‑safe cleaning protocol (e.g., ultrasonic in distilled water, then air‑dry) prior to insertion in the CAD/CAM system.
• Ensure the implant site (or laboratory model) is free of contaminants and the implant platform is dry and clean.

CAD Workflow

• Import the digital impression or scan data of the implant site into your CAD software.
• Design the abutment on the blank, adjusting for required angulation, emergence profile, margin line, height, and occlusal relationship as per the treatment plan.
• Confirm the designed connection geometry aligns precisely with the implant platform type for which the mini hex blank is designated.

CAM / Milling

• Mount the OSSM blank into the appropriate holder or milling adapter ensuring secure fixation, stable orientation and alignment in the milling machine.
• Begin the milling process according to your CAM program, cutting the blank into the customized abutment shape as per the CAD design.
• After milling, remove the abutment from the holder, inspect for accuracy of fit, surface integrity, sharp edges, and correct geometry.
• Finish by polishing, cleaning, and if required, apply any surface treatments (e.g., anodization, coating) in accordance with your lab’s protocol and the clinician’s aesthetic requirement.
• Clean the finished abutment in an ultrasonic bath or recommended cleaning cycle, rinse, and dry for delivery to the clinician.

Clinical Placement

• Place the prosthetic screw through the abutment and hand‑tighten to verify smooth threading and correct seating.
• Using a calibrated torque wrench, tighten the screw to the manufacturer‑recommended torque value (verify in the implant system’s protocol).
• Radiographically verify seating and fit of the abutment in the implant prosthetic connection.
• Check occlusion, soft‑tissue adaptation, and emergence profile of the abutment with the provisional or final restoration.

Restoration Integration and Finalisation

• If the restoration is screw‑retained, ensure the access hole is sealed appropriately (e.g., PTFE tape + composite resin) to prevent contamination.
• If the restoration is cement‑retained, follow the appropriate abutment/crown cementation protocol, ensuring no cement residue remains at the margin.
• Instruct the patient on proper hygiene around the implant (inter‑proximal brushes, floss, water‑irrigation as appropriate) and schedule follow‑up visits to monitor soft‑tissue response and prosthetic stability.

Warnings and Precautions

• Use only in the implant system(s) specified and verified as compatible with the OSSM blank.
• Do not modify the pre‑milled interface geometry beyond the design limits specified by the manufacturer, as this may compromise fit and torque stability.
• Excessive or repeated torque beyond the recommended value may lead to screw loosening, interface deformation or implant failure.
• Ensure that any surface treatments or modifications are compatible with the titanium alloy and do not alter its mechanical properties.

Storage and Handling
