The Waldent Plastic Filling Instrument + Condenser 15/733 combines two essential functions in one tool. One end is flat, ideal for carrying and placing filling material into cavity preparations with accuracy and minimal trauma to surrounding tissues. The opposite end features a condenser, designed for compacting and shaping the restorative material within the cavity, promoting proper adaptation and enhancing restoration durability.

Directions for Use

1. Preparation: Ensure the hockey-shaped plastic condenser is clean and sterilized before use. Verify its integrity and functionality.

2. Handling and Grip: Hold the condenser comfortably in your dominant hand, grasping it firmly but with enough control to manipulate restorative materials effectively.

3. Material Application:

   • Loading: Load the tip of the condenser with the desired restorative material (e.g., composite resin, glass ionomer cement) using an appropriate dispensing method.

   • Placement: Position the condenser tip at the prepared tooth surface where the restorative material needs to be applied. Apply gentle pressure to begin transferring and shaping the material into place.

4. Condensing Technique:

   • Use the hockey-shaped tip of the condenser to condense and pack the restorative material into the cavity or onto the tooth surface.
   • Apply firm but controlled pressure to ensure the material adapts well to the cavity walls and achieves proper adaptation and marginal integrity.

5. Contouring and Shaping:

   • After initial condensation, use the edges or sides of the condenser tip to contour and shape the restorative material. Smooth out any excess material and create anatomical features as necessary.
