Description

Waldent Adams Plier is made from high quality stainless steel, usually used for adjusting orthodontic appliances, to bend orthodontic wires. It is  ideal for bending wires at a 90° angle.

It can be used for wire bending upto ø 0.8mm. The beaks are flat, facing each other, built to take the pressure required to work all adams clasps and to reduce discomfort for the user.

Directions for Use

• Preparation: Ensure that the plier is clean and sterilized, either by autoclaving or following the recommended sterilization procedure.

• Select the Wire: Choose the appropriate orthodontic wire for the procedure, ensuring it fits within the diameter range specified for the plier (up to ø 0.8mm).

• Positioning: Hold the Adams Dental Plier firmly in your dominant hand, with the beaks facing upward and the flat, pyramidal-shaped tips aligned.

• Grasp the Wire: Carefully position the orthodontic wire between the flat beaks of the plier, ensuring it is securely held in place.

• Bending: Apply gentle pressure to the plier handles, gradually bending the wire to the desired angle. The flat, pyramidal-shaped tips provide a stable grip, facilitating precise adjustments.

• Verify: Check the angle of the bent wire to ensure it meets the required specifications for the orthodontic appliance or procedure.

• Repeat if Necessary: If further adjustments are needed, release the wire from the plier, reposition it, and repeat the bending process as required.

• Final Inspection: Once satisfied with the wire’s positioning and angle, inspect it carefully to ensure it meets the orthodontic treatment plan’s requirements.

• Clean and Sterilize: After use, clean the Adams Dental Plier thoroughly using an appropriate disinfectant solution. Sterilize the plier again using autoclaving or the recommended sterilization method to maintain hygiene for subsequent uses.
