Directions for Use

Preparation

• Sterilise the curette in an autoclave prior to use and inspect cutting edges for sharpness
• Select the appropriate tip variant (SC 2R/2L or SC 4R/4L) based on the tooth and surface to be treated
• Position the patient comfortably and ensure adequate isolation, illumination, and suction

Placement

• Adopt a modified pen grasp and establish a stable intraoral finger rest close to the working area
• Insert the working end into the gingival sulcus or pocket with the face of the blade nearly parallel to the tooth surface
• Adapt the cutting edge to the root surface at an angulation of approximately 70 to 80 degrees

Operation

• Activate short, controlled overlapping vertical, oblique, or horizontal strokes to dislodge calculus
• Use the right end for one set of surfaces and the left end for the opposite, covering the entire quadrant systematically
• Reassess the root surface for residual deposits and refine with light exploratory strokes

Post Use Care

• Rinse the instrument under running water immediately after use to remove debris and biological contaminants
• Ultrasonically clean, dry thoroughly, and inspect the working ends for wear or dullness
• Sharpen as required and autoclave before storing in a sterile pouch or cassette
