Directions for Use

Preparation:

• Ensure that the prepared tooth or dental restoration is clean and dry.
• Prepare the metal surface (if applicable) that you intend to mask using IPS Empress Direct Opaque.

Application of Opaque Material

• Apply IPS Empress Direct Opaque to the prepared metal surface. The layer applied should not exceed a thickness of 0.5 mm.
• If necessary, apply a second layer of IPS Empress Direct Opaque to ensure complete masking.
• Use a dental curing light to light-cure the material. Ensure the light emission window of the curing light is as close to the material as possible during the curing process.

Proximal Area Preparation (if needed)

• If the restoration involves proximal areas (spaces between adjacent teeth), place a matrix band and secure it with a wedge to create a suitable working environment.

Composite Material Application

• Repair the restoration by applying composite material, such as IPS Empress Direct, in increments. Add and shape each increment as needed.

Finishing and Polishing

• After completing the restoration, finish and polish the surface to achieve a smooth and natural appearance.
