Directions for Use

• Preparing the Environment: Ensure a well-lit working area to visualize the teeth and gum surfaces clearly. Make sure all dental instruments, including the Gracey curettes, are clean and sterilized before use.
• Patient Preparation: Greet and seat the patient comfortably in the dental chair. Explain the procedure to the patient to ensure their cooperation and comfort during the scaling process.
• Selecting the Correct Gracey Curette: Identify the correct Gracey curette, numbered 9/10, for the specific surface to be treated. Ensure that you have both the buccal and lingual curettes for comprehensive cleaning.
• Establishing Correct Instrument Grasp: Hold the Gracey curette in a modified pen grasp to ensure precise control and comfort during the procedure.
• Positioning the Curette: Position the curette’s working end at a 0-40 degree angle to the tooth surface. For the buccal surface, position the curette on the outer side of the tooth. For the lingual surface, position the curette on the inner side of the tooth.
