Description

This Hex CCM castable abutment is designed for use with Straumann BLX implants, giving dental labs and clinicians a reliable base for fabricating fully customized cast restorations. The abutment combines a burnout plastic sleeve with a Cobalt-Chromium-Molybdenum (Co-Cr-Mo) metal interface. The hex configuration provides anti-rotational stability, keeping the final restoration securely indexed to the implant platform during function.It is well suited for single-unit crowns, splinted units, and screw-retained bridge frameworks where a custom emergence profile is clinically important. Directions for Use

Preparation:

• Confirm the implant connection is BLX hex and that the coping’s hex index matches the implant platform.
• Seat the castable coping on the working model analog and verify full, passive seating with no rocking.
• Check margin height and coping wall thickness are adequate for the planned restoration before waxing.

Operation:

• Wax up the crown or bridge framework directly over the plastic burnout coping, keeping the hex engagement area free of wax to preserve the anti-rotational fit.
• Sprue, invest, and burn out following standard lab casting protocol — the plastic sleeve burns out completely, leaving the cast metal to take its place.
• Cast in the intended alloy, then divest and clean the casting, checking that the hex interface is fully and cleanly reproduced.

Post-Use Care:

• Fit the cast framework back on the model to confirm passive fit and correct hex orientation before polishing.
• Try in on the implant intraorally, verify seating with a periapical radiograph if needed, and check occlusion.
• Finish, polish, and proceed to permanent cementation or screw-retained fixation as planned for the case.
