Cotisen Upper Tray Base Former is a professional-grade dental laboratory tool designed to create uniform, well-shaped bases for maxillary (upper arch) impression casts and study models. Crafted from flexible silicone, this specially designed tough quality rubber mould makes model making quick and reduces mess. The dental stone or plaster is contained within the mould and, when set, the model can be easily removed. Its preformed shape reduces the need for trimming the cast, saving valuable chair and lab time. It is durable, economical, and helps in the easy formation of bases for both maxillary and mandibular impression casts. Base formers come in a set of three sizes — Small, Medium, and Large – made of soft rubber that is easy to work with, making them suitable for a wide range of patient arch sizes. Reusable and easy to clean, it is an essential tool for every dental laboratory.

Directions for Use

Clean the Mould – Wash and dry the base former thoroughly before use to remove any dust or residue.
Mix the Material – Mix Dental Stone in a rubber bowl using a spatula until a smooth, lump-free consistency is achieved.
Pour the Material – Carefully pour the mixed material into the base former mould.
Remove Air Bubbles – Gently tap the mould on the surface to eliminate any air bubbles trapped in the material.
Place the Cast – Align the maxillary (upper) impression cast to the centre of the base former and press it gently and evenly.
Allow to Set – Leave the material undisturbed and allow it to set completely as per the recommended setting time.
Remove the Cast – Once fully set, gently flex the silicone mould and carefully remove the cast without applying excessive force.
Clean & Store – Rinse the base former with clean water, dry it, and store it properly for reuse.
