Waldent Professional K-File 31mm

Waldent Professional K File is manufactured by twisting or grinding a square or triangular tapered shaft so that the cutting edges are almost perpendicular to the long access of instrument. Designed with four cutting edges & a 60° tip with 135° cutting angle with good cutting ability. This together with its tight spiral ensure a safe preparation. With more refined cutting edge, square cross section, these files lasts upto 8-10 endodontic cases

Directions for Use

• Preparation:

  • Ensure all instruments are sterile and ready for use.
  • Wash hands and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Accessing the Canal:

  • Use a dental drill to create access to the root canal if not already done.
  • Identify the canal orifice using a mouth mirror and explorer.

• Selecting the K-File:

  • Choose the appropriate size of the K-File (31mm length) based on the root canal anatomy.

• Inserting the K-File:

  • Gently insert the K-File into the canal using a slow and steady motion.
  • Avoid forcing the file into the canal to prevent any potential breakage.

• Working the File:

  • Rotate the file clockwise while gently pushing it apically to create a pathway.
  • Use a combination of pushing and pulling motions to clean and shape the canal.
  • Clean the file regularly to remove debris during the procedure.

• Measuring the Length:

  • Use an apex locator or a radiograph to determine the working length of the canal.
  • Ensure the file reaches the correct depth without exceeding the apex.

• Irrigation:

  • Use an appropriate irrigation solution (e.g., sodium hypochlorite) to flush the canal while using the K-File.
  • Repeat the filing and irrigation process until the canal is adequately shaped.

• Finalizing the Procedure:

  • Once the canal is shaped and cleaned, remove the K-File carefully.
  • Proceed with obturation or further treatment as necessary.

• Post-Procedure Care:

  • Dispose of the used K-File according to local regulations for dental waste.
  • Ensure proper sterilization of reusable instruments if applicable.
