Description

Waldent Professional K File is a high-quality endodontic instrument designed for effective canal cleaning and shaping. Manufactured from hard-fiber stainless steel, these files feature a square or triangular tapered shaft with sharp, mirror-like cutting edges that are almost perpendicular to the long axis, ensuring precise cutting with reduced separation potential.

The file’s 60° tip and 135° cutting angle provide excellent cutting ability, while the tighter, more numerous flutes offer enhanced debris removal. With a refined cutting edge and a square cross-section, these files are durable enough to handle 8-10 endodontic cases.

The handles, made from medical-grade plastic, are ISO color-coded and numbered for easy identification. Suitable for use in curved canals, the K File’s strong, flexible design and inactive pilot tip make it a reliable choice for safe and efficient canal preparation.

Directions for Use

• Initial Preparation: Begin by selecting the appropriate size of the K File, ensuring it matches the canal’s dimensions. Ensure the file is clean, sterile, and free from any contaminants before use.

• Watch Winding Technique: Insert the K File gently into the canal and begin using a forward and backward motion, similar to winding a watch.

  • Apply slight apical pressure as you move the file down the canal, allowing it to effectively debride the canal dentine.
  • Continue this motion slowly and steadily, ensuring the file progresses down the canal without forcing.

• Reaching Working Length: Once the K File has reached the desired working length, transition to a push-and-pull motion.

  • Perform this action around the circumference of the canal, taking care to maintain contact with the canal wall only on the outstroke.
  • This technique helps to avoid apical blockage by minimizing debris compaction at the canal’s apex.

• Final Steps: After completing the instrumentation, carefully remove the file from the canal.

  • Inspect the file for any signs of wear or deformation before sterilizing it for future use.
  • Proceed with irrigation to remove any remaining debris from the canal.
