Directions for Use

• Isolation and Moisture Control: Ensure a dry operating field by using isolation techniques such as rubber dam or cotton rolls. Moisture can compromise the bonding process, so it’s crucial to maintain a dry environment.
• Clean Tooth Surface: Thoroughly clean the tooth surface where the bracket will be placed. Remove any debris or plaque using a fluoride-free pumice.
• Etching: Apply an orthophosphoric acid (etching gel) to the enamel surface. Etching creates a microstructure on the tooth enamel, enhancing the bond strength. Follow the recommended etching time specified by the adhesive manufacturer.
• Rinse and Dry: Rinse the tooth surface thoroughly to remove the etching gel, and then dry the tooth with oil-free, compressed air. Complete drying is essential for a successful bond.
• Apply Primer: Apply an orthodontic primer to the etched tooth surface. The primer promotes adhesion between the enamel and the bonding adhesive.
• Light Cure Primer: Some primers may require light curing. Use a curing light to polymerize and set the primer on the tooth surface. Follow the recommended curing time.
• Apply Adhesive: Apply the orthodontic adhesive to the back of the bracket. Position the bracket accurately on the tooth, ensuring proper alignment.
• Light Cure Adhesive: Cure the adhesive using a curing light. This step bonds the bracket to the tooth surface. Follow the recommended curing time for the adhesive.
• Attach Archwire: Once the brackets are securely bonded, thread the orthodontic archwire through the brackets. This wire exerts pressure on the brackets to gradually move the teeth.
• Secure with Ligatures: Use ligatures or other mechanisms to secure the archwire in place within the brackets.
• Adjustments: Periodically adjust the archwire and make any necessary changes to the brackets based on the treatment plan. This may involve changing wires or adding elastics.
• Monitoring and Follow-up: Regularly monitor the patient’s progress and make adjustments as needed during follow-up appointments.
