Transparent crown matrices are a convenient approach to shaping restorative material to mimic natural dentition. In both pediatric and adult dentistry, their capacity to assist in the formation of a crown can save time and simplify the crown process.

These transparent crown form matrices are great for using with chemical and light-cured composites, and they should come off cleanly. The flexibility for the dentist to utilize their chosen composite for greater aesthetic and shade control is one of the advantages of transparent strip crown forms.

It’s a pre-formed clear matrix made of celluloid plastic that’s designed to work with composite Class IV restorations and different tooth fractures.

In a typical way, the cavity is filled in layers. The main difference is that instead of sculpting and curing the final layer, the matrix is pushed into the uncured composite to give the restoration of the anatomy of a natural tooth. The clear matrix is then used to cure the composite.

Directions for Use

• Preparing the tooth: The tooth that is to receive the crown is prepared by removing any decayed or damaged tooth structure, and shaping it to accommodate the crown.
• Fitting the strip crown: When the strip crown is ready, it is checked for fit and trimmed as necessary to ensure a proper fit. The crown should fit snugly around the tooth, without any gaps or spaces.
• Filling the strip crown: Fill the crown with a restorative cement
• Cementing the crown: Once the crown is properly fitted, it is cemented into place using a dental cement. The excess cement is removed, and the bite is checked to ensure proper occlusion.
