Description

Foam Discs are specially designed for use as space holders and insulation during the fabrication of pressure-moulded impression trays. These discs create a uniform relief space between the tray and the cast, ensuring proper thickness of the impression material and preventing the tray from locking onto the model. The textured surface of the foam disc provides excellent mechanical retention securing them firmly during the procedure. Heat-resistant and lightweight, they remain stable during thermoforming and are easy to position on the model. Foam discs ensure hygiene and convenience in the dental laboratory while supporting the production of precise, functional impression trays.

Directions for Use

• Selection — Choose an appropriately sized foam disc depending on the model and tray dimensions.
• Model Preparation — Clean and dry the plaster model thoroughly to ensure proper adhesion.
• Placement — Position the foam disc at the center of the model’s occlusal or palatal surface where space is needed, pressing lightly to seat it securely.
• Thermoforming — Place the heated thermoplastic sheet over the model with the foam disc in place, and proceed with pressure moulding according to standard parameters.
• Post-formation — After cooling, remove the tray and peel off the foam disc, leaving a clean, uniform space for the impression material.
• Disposal — Discard the used disc after one use to maintain hygiene standards.
