Directions for Use

• Preparation: Ensure the mouth mirror is sterilized before use. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, mask, and eye protection.

• Positioning: Position the patient comfortably in the dental chair, ensuring their head is well-supported and aligned. Adjust your own body posture to avoid strain, and ensure you are in a comfortable working position.

• Using the Mouth Mirror: For Viewing Surfaces:

  • Gently introduce the mirror into the patient’s mouth.
  • Use the mirror to view the posterior (lingual) surfaces of the anterior maxillary teeth.
  • Adjust the angle of the mirror to get a clear, magnified view of these hard-to-see areas.
• For Indirect Vision:  
  • Position the mirror to reflect light from the overhead dentist’s light onto areas where natural lighting is insufficient.
  • Simultaneously use the mirror to provide indirect vision of obscure or difficult-to-see areas.
  • Move the mirror to different angles to optimize both illumination and visibility.

• Handling: Hold the mirror by its handle, ensuring a comfortable grip. Avoid applying excessive pressure to prevent patient discomfort and ensure precise control.

• Post-Use: Carefully remove the mirror from the patient’s mouth. Clean and sterilize the mirror according to your dental practice’s protocols.
