Directions for Use

• Select the Correct Band Size: After separators have been placed to create space, use study models and try different band sizes directly in the patient’s mouth. The ideal band fits snugly but allows enough space for cement. Record the correct size for future reference
• Initial Placement: Place the selected band on the tooth using finger pressure to start seating it in the correct position
• Use the Band Seater: Position the flat or serrated tip of the OSL Band Seater (bite stick) over the band, usually at the bracket area. Instruct the patient to bite down gently on the seater. This biting force helps fully seat the band onto the tooth for a tight, secure fit
• Check and Adjust: Ensure the band is seated 1–2 mm below the occlusal surface and follows the tooth’s contours. Use the band seater or a band pusher to make minor adjustments as needed. Only use the band pusher on mesial or distal surfaces, not buccal or lingual
• Cementation: Once the band is properly seated, remove it, dry its interior, and apply glass ionomer cement. Reposition the band using the same seating technique, then wipe away excess cement before it sets. Once set, remove any remaining excess with a trimmer or floss
