Directions for Use

• Preparation:

  • Ensure the patient’s mouth is clean and dry.
  • Inspect the lingual sheaths and wires for any signs of wear or damage.

• Insertion:

  • Insert the lingual sheath into the desired position on the molar band.
  • Ensure the sheath is securely attached and properly aligned.

• Adjusting the Sheath:

  • Use a band seater with a plunger to adjust the sheath’s indentation.
  • Pull the plunger back toward the handle and release it to push the tip forward.
  • Position the plunger tip against the distal end of the sheath and release to recreate the dimple if needed.

• Securing the Appliance:

  • Insert the removable appliance (e.g., palatal bar, quad helix, lower lingual arch) into the sheath.
  • Ensure the appliance fits securely and the archwire is held firmly by the indentation.

• Final Check:

  • Verify the appliance and sheath are stable and not causing discomfort.
  • Make any necessary adjustments to ensure patient comfort and appliance stability.
