Directions for Use

Preparation

• Inspect the retractor for surface damage, bends, or rough edges before use
• Sterilise by steam autoclave at 121–134°C following clinic SOP and dry thoroughly
• Lay out alongside other surgical or photography instruments on the sterile tray

Placement

• Hold the handle in a pen or palm grip based on operator comfort
• Engage the arched working end gently against the lip or buccal mucosa at the target site
• Lift the soft tissue outward and upward (or downward for the lower jaw) to expose the vestibule

Operation

• Maintain steady, controlled retraction to keep the surgical field continuously visible
• Reposition smoothly when shifting between anterior and posterior segments
• For photography, hold the retractor at an angle that avoids shadowing the region of interest

Post Use Care

• Rinse off blood and debris immediately under running water after use
• Clean with an enzymatic solution or ultrasonic bath, then rinse and dry completely
• Inspect for wear, lubricate if required, and store in a dry sterilisation pouch
