- Reflect a full-thickness mucoperiosteal flap to expose the osseous defect.
- Hold with a modified pen grasp; rest fingers on adjacent teeth for stability.
- Position the appropriate working end against the bone — use CO3 for narrow interproximal access and CO4 for wider areas.
- Apply controlled push-strokes to remove thin ledges of bone and create positive osseous architecture.
- Flip to the opposite working end as needed for different angles without picking up another instrument.
- Irrigate continuously with saline to clear bone chips and improve visibility.
- Reposition the flap and suture once contouring is complete.
- Clean, dry, and re-sterilize before storage.
