Description

A Mouth Prop (also bite block) is a wedge-shaped implement used by dentists working with the patients who have difficulty keeping their mouths open wide and steady during a procedure, or during procedures where the patient is sedated. It has a rubber-like texture and is typically made from thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) material.

Directions for Use

• Select the appropriate size (Small or Medium) based on the patient’s needs.
• Ensure the bite block is sterilized before use (steam autoclavable).
• Gently place the bite block between the patient’s upper and lower teeth, ensuring proper positioning to maintain an open mouth.
• The wedge-shaped design secures space, preventing the patient’s teeth from closing during the procedure.
• The smooth edge ensures patient comfort and protects the tongue from injury.
• Once the procedure is complete, remove the bite block carefully.
• Clean and sterilize the bite block for future use.
