Directions for Use

• Preparation:

  • Ensure the tooth is clean and dry.
  • Isolate the tooth using a rubber dam or cotton rolls if necessary.

• Select the Matrix Band:

  • Choose the appropriate size and curvature of the matrix band (No. 1 for standard posterior restorations).

• Placement:

  • Slide the matrix band around the prepared tooth, positioning it so that it extends above the marginal ridge and fits snugly against the adjacent tooth.
  • Ensure the band’s contour matches the natural shape of the tooth.

• Secure the Band:

  • Use a matrix retainer (e.g., Tofflemire or Ivory) to hold the band in place. Adjust the retainer for proper tension and fit.

• Fill the Cavity:

  • Pack the restorative material (composite or amalgam) into the cavity preparation, ensuring it fills the space against the matrix band.
  • Contour the material to match the desired anatomy.

• Setting:

  • If using light-cured composite, cure according to manufacturer instructions. For amalgam, allow it to set as per standard protocols.

• Removal:

  • Once the material has been set, carefully loosen and remove the matrix retainer.
  • Gently slide the matrix band off the tooth, ensuring not to disturb the restoration.

• Finishing:
