Directions for Use

• Preparation: Ensure all necessary dental instruments are prepared and sterilized according to standard procedures.

• Patient Preparation: Position the patient comfortably in the dental chair with appropriate lighting and access to the affected tooth or root.

• Examination: Conduct a thorough examination of the tooth or root to be extracted, assessing its position, surrounding tissues, and any potential complications.

• Anesthesia: Administer local anesthesia to ensure patient comfort and numbness in the extraction area.

• Insertion: Hold the Seldin Root Elevator firmly by its handle. Gently insert the curved tip of the elevator between the gum tissue and the exterior of the tooth or retained root.

• Leverage: Use controlled and gentle pressure to maneuver the elevator, applying leverage to loosen the surrounding periodontal ligament and facilitate detachment from the socket.

• Rotational Movement: Employ slight rotational movements if necessary to further dislodge the tooth or root from its position.

• Extraction: Once adequately loosened, carefully lift or extract the tooth or root from its socket using appropriate forceps or additional elevators as needed.

• Post-Extraction Care: Ensure thorough hemostasis (control of bleeding) at the extraction site. Provide post-operative instructions to the patient for care and follow-up.
