Directions for Use

• Positioning: Position yourself and the patient in a comfortable and ergonomic position. Adequate lighting is essential for proper visualization during the procedure.
• Selection of the appropriate file: Choose the Hirschfeld file size and design that is appropriate for the tooth surface and treatment area.
• Insertion: Insert the working end of the file gently into the periodontal pocket or the space between the tooth and the gum tissue. Ensure proper angulation and adaptation of the file to the tooth surface.
• Scaling motion: Using light to moderate pressure, make controlled and overlapping strokes with the file across the root surface. The cutting edges of the file should be in contact with the root surface. Move the file in a sweeping or scraping motion, following the curvature of the root. Work systematically through the entire pocket or affected area.
• Root planing: After scaling the root surface, perform root planing by applying light pressure and moving the file in a smoothing motion along the root surface. This helps to remove residual deposits and create a smooth surface.
• Rinse and evaluate: Regularly rinse the area with water or an antimicrobial solution to remove debris and visualize the treated area. Evaluate the root surface to ensure it is free of calculus and plaque.
• Repeat as necessary: Depending on the extent of the periodontal disease and the presence of deposits, it may be necessary to repeat the scaling and root planing process for multiple teeth or areas.
