• Examination Technique with Shepherd’s Hook End (Exd5): For gum health assessment and probing, gently insert the curved end into the periodontal pocket. Carefully move the instrument along the gumline, taking note of any irregularities, pocket depths, or signs of inflammation.
• Examination Technique with Explorer End (No. 1): For examining tooth surfaces, use the sharp, fine-pointed explorer end. Gently pass the explorer over the tooth surfaces, feeling for irregularities, decay, or calculus deposits. Pay attention to any roughness or irregularities in the enamel.
