The Dentaltech DIO Compatible MultiUnit Ti Base is a precision-engineered titanium interface designed to fit directly onto DIO Multi-Unit Abutments for the fabrication of screw-retained prosthetic restorations. CNC-machined from grade 5 medical titanium alloy, this Ti-Base provides a stable, biocompatible foundation between the multi-unit abutment platform and the cemented zirconia, PMMA, or hybrid superstructure. The retentive grooved surface ensures a strong adhesive bond with the prosthesis, while the precise machining maintains accurate, passive seating on the DIO MUA platform. It is the ideal solution for single screw-retained crowns over an MUA, hybrid bridges, and full-arch implant rehabilitations including All-on-4 and All-on-6 cases. Compatible with standard CAD/CAM digital workflows, the Ti-Base supports scan body integration for accurate digital impression taking and computer-aided prosthetic design.

Directions for Use

Preparation

• Confirm the Ti-Base matches your DIO Multi-Unit Abutment platform and required cuff height
• Verify the non-engaging design is suitable for your full-arch or hybrid bridge case
• Inspect each Ti-Base for any damage or surface defects before lab use
• Sterilize the Ti-Base via autoclave at 134°C if supplied as non-sterile

Digital Workflow

• Place multi-unit scan bodies on the seated MUAs and capture an intraoral digital scan
• Import the scan into CAD software and select the matching multi-unit Ti-Base library file
• Design the zirconia or PMMA bridge with internal cavities and screw access channels for each Ti-Base
• Mill the prosthesis from high-strength zirconia and complete sintering, polishing, and glazing

Lab Bonding

• Try-in the milled prosthesis on a master cast with Ti-Base analogs to verify passive fit
• Sandblast Ti-Base bonding surfaces with 50 to 110 micron aluminum oxide and clean thoroughly
• Sandblast the internal zirconia cavities gently with 50 micron aluminum oxide
• Apply zirconia primer to the prosthesis cavities and metal primer to the Ti-Base surfaces
• Apply dual-cure resin cement evenly to each Ti-Base avoiding the screw channel
• Seat the prosthesis fully so all Ti-Bases enter their cavities simultaneously with even pressure
• Remove excess cement immediately and ensure screw access channels remain clear
• Light-cure each junction for 40 seconds and allow chemical cure to complete for 5 minutes
• Polish all gingival margins and verify clean screw channels before delivery

Clinical Delivery

• Verify the MUAs are torqued onto the implants per manufacturer protocol and clean each platform
• Try-in the bonded prosthesis ensuring complete and passive seating across all MUAs
• Insert the compatible MUA prosthetic screws through each access channel and hand-tighten
• Tighten all screws to 50 percent of final torque in a cross-pattern sequence
• Final torque each screw to the DIO recommended value using a calibrated torque wrench
• Wait 10 minutes and re-torque all screws to the same value to compensate for settling
• Check occlusion with articulating paper and adjust any premature contacts or high spots
• Confirm complete seating radiographically with a periapical or panoramic X-ray

Post Use Care

• Place PTFE tape into each screw access channel and seal the top with composite restorative material
• Educate the patient on water flosser use, soft diet for 48 hours, and recall schedule
• Schedule recall appointments at 1 week, 1 month, 6 months, and annually thereafter
• Re-verify screw torque and bone levels radiographically during periodic recall visits
