Description

Cotisen Mouth Prop (also bite block) is a wedge-shaped implement used by dentists working with the patients who have difficulty in keeping their mouth open, wide and steady during a procedure, or the procedures where the patient is sedated. It has a rubber-like texture and is typically made from thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) material.

Directions for Use

• Selection:

  • Choose the appropriate size of the mouth prop (small, medium, or large) based on the patient’s mouth size and comfort level.

• Preparation:

  • Ensure the mouth prop is clean and sterilized according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Wear gloves to maintain hygiene during application.

• Insertion:

  • Gently open the patient’s mouth.
  • Position the mouth prop between the upper and lower teeth on one side of the mouth.
  • Place it in a way that provides optimal support without causing discomfort or excessive pressure.

• Adjustment:

  • Ensure the patient feels comfortable with the mouth prop in place.
  • Verify that it is secure and won’t shift during the procedure.

• During Use:

  • Periodically check on the patient to ensure comfort.
  • Make adjustments as necessary if the patient reports any discomfort.

• Removal:

  • After the procedure, gently remove the mouth prop.
  • Clean and sterilize the device as per the product’s care guidelines before the next use.
