Description

Ostoden is a Synthetic Calcium Phosphate based bone graft device intended to aid in orthopedic/Dental Reproductive procedures requiring bone graft substitute due to injury or degenerative disease.

INDICATION:

• Allows to maintain and restore the bony alveolar ridge in post-extraction tooth sockets, or after oral surgery, ridge preservation, ridge augmentation, augmentation in the maxillary sinus, repair of periodontal bone defects and bone voids.

• Also indicated for bone defects due to apicoectomies, cystic formation or tumor removal.

• Implants on individual patients based on the clinical merits of each case.

Directions for Use

Preparation:

• Ensure proper hand hygiene and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Open the packaging of Ammdent Ostoden Bone Graft Material 0.5cc using sterile techniques and instruments.

Examination:

• Evaluate the patient’s oral or surgical site where bone grafting is necessary.
• Assess the size and nature of the defect to determine the amount of graft material required.

Application:

• Use sterile instruments to handle the graft material.
• Carefully place the Ammdent Ostoden Bone Graft Material into the bone defect, ensuring even distribution and complete coverage.
• Adapt the graft material to conform to the contours of the defect for optimal integration and stability.
• Pack the graft material firmly but gently to eliminate any voids and ensure proper contact with surrounding bone tissue.

Closure:

• If applicable, close the surgical site using appropriate suturing techniques.
• Ensure proper hemostasis to prevent excessive bleeding and promote wound healing.

Postoperative Care:

• Instruct the patient on postoperative care instructions, including oral hygiene practices and dietary restrictions if necessary.
• Advise the patient to avoid disturbing the surgical site to promote undisturbed healing.
• Schedule follow-up appointments to monitor healing progress and assess the need for additional interventions.

Sterility and Disposal:

• Discard any unused portion of the Ammdent Ostoden Bone Graft Material after use.
