Waldent K-Flex Files feature a unique rhomboid design, which provides a short axis for flexibility while maintaining cross-sectional strength. K-Flex is more flexible than conventional “K” files of comparable size, particularly in sizes #30 and above, which facilitates the negotiation of curved canals and their preparation with minimal potential for ledging and perforating.

K-Flex files are made of a flexible, stainless steel alloy that allows them to easily bend and conform to the curves of the root canal, reducing the risk of instrument breakage and improving patient comfort during treatment. Directions for Use

• Obtain access to the root canal by creating an opening through the tooth crown.

• Irrigate the canal with a disinfecting solution to remove any debris or bacteria.

• Begin cleaning and shaping the canal using the K-flex files. Select the appropriate size and taper for the canal and use a light touch to avoid overinstrumentation.

• Insert the file into the canal and rotate it in a clockwise motion to engage the canal walls. Use a gentle filing motion to remove debris and shape the canal.

• Confirm the working length using radiographs/electronic apex locator.

• Continue to use progressively larger and stiffer K-flex files until the desired canal shape and size are achieved.

• Repeat the irrigation process to remove any debris and disinfect the canal.

• Dry the canal and then obturate it using a filling material to seal the canal and prevent bacterial re-infection.
