Description

Li-ion batteries can be charged and discharged more rapidly than NiMH batteries. Also, Li-ion batteries do not have much of a “memory effect” which is a phenomenon that occurs when the battery is recharged before it is completely empty. The memory effect is also known as the “lazy battery effect” or “battery memory” which causes NiMH batteries to hold a lower amount of charge. The number of times the battery can be recharged is a significant measure that denotes the life of the battery. Typically rechargeable batteries included in endo motors can be charged and discharged about 200 – 500 times. Another key point to consider with regard to the battery is the amount of time taken to fully charge the device and the usage time it offers.

Directions for Use

Initial Charging:

• Before first use, it’s recommended to charge the battery fully.

Charging:

• Charge the battery before it is fully depleted for optimal performance.
• Avoid overcharging the battery, as it can lead to reduced battery life.

Discharging:

• While Li-ion batteries don’t suffer from the memory effect like NiMH batteries, it’s still good practice to avoid deep discharges.
• Try to recharge the battery when it reaches a moderate charge level rather than waiting for it to fully discharge.

Storage:

• If the battery will not be used for an extended period, store it in a cool, dry place.
• Ideally, store the battery with a charge level between 20% and 80% to prolong its lifespan.
• Follow the recommended temperature range for storage, which, in this case, is mentioned as not exceeding 140°F.

Handling:

• Avoid exposing the battery to extreme temperatures, such as heat or fire.
• Do not disassemble the battery or attempt to repair it. Any maintenance or repairs should be performed by qualified professionals.
• Keep the battery away from metal objects, necklaces, hairpins, or anything that could cause a short circuit.

Usage Time:

• Pay attention to the device’s power consumption and usage time to manage the battery effectively.
