The Photo Mirror with Handle featuring Rhodium Front Surface is engineered for the highest-quality intraoral photography. Designed by Hahnenkratt using cutting-edge ion-ray vacuum technology, the mirror delivers distortion-free, ultra-sharp images with exceptional contrast and color accuracy. The rhodium reflective layer—deposited directly on the surface—prevents double reflections, providing a singular, crisp image ideal for detailed clinical documentation. Highly resistant to disinfection and sterilization (up to 180°C), including acidic solutions, it ensures long-lasting performance. The mirror reproduces natural colors with remarkable brightness and a homogeneous reflection spectrum (90% reflectivity, equivalent to silver), enabling high-impact intraoral images. Its ergonomic handle adds user convenience and stability during photography.

Due to the ion-ray process developed and optimized by us, our mouth mirrors achieve a superior reflection and layer hardness.In our high-vacuum systems, we generate a complex layer structure at 2 x 10^-6mbar by electron ray evaporation, the reflective layer of which consists of pure rhodium. Rhodium is a precious metal like gold or platinum.The mirror coating with rhodium on the glass surface (FS – Front Surface) has the advantage that the image is reflected directly on the surface and is therefore absolutely sharp. With a simple mirror coating on the rear side of the mirror glass, there are two reflections, one on the mirror coating and another – but weak reflection – on the surface of the glass.

The handles are made of anodized aluminum.

Directions for Use

• Pre-use Preparation: Ensure the mirror is sterilized before use. Handle with care to avoid scratching the front surface.
• Positioning: Hold the mirror by the integrated handle and position it intraorally to reflect the desired area—buccal, lingual, or occlusal—for photography.
• Photography: Use a macro lens or intraoral camera to capture high-definition images. Ensure appropriate lighting for optimal color reproduction and contrast.
• Cleaning: After use, gently rinse with water, then clean with non-abrasive solutions.
• Sterilization: Autoclave at temperatures up to 180°C. The mirror is resistant to both thermal and acidic disinfectants.
